Who we are and scope

This policy covers the DWise mobile application and dwise.app website. The service operator’s full legal identity and contact details must be completed before publication. For privacy questions or requests, use the support form at dwise.app support.

Information processed

When you sign in with a phone number or Google, Firebase Authentication processes account identifiers such as your phone number, email address, display name, provider and Firebase user ID. Phone verification codes are used for authentication and are not stored by DWise. The app's personal organizer records are stored locally by default. When you use shared-expense features, selected group membership, invitation, device and connection-signaling metadata is processed so invited devices can connect; shared content is exchanged directly between authenticated devices using encrypted WebRTC rather than stored as organizer records in Firebase.

Firebase services used for authentication, pairing and shared-expense coordination include Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Realtime Database, Cloud Functions and, if you enable notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging. These services may process user/device identifiers, invitation and membership state, public device keys, short-lived QR/session signaling data, notification registration tokens and language preference. QR login challenges are short-lived; an active pairing remains until revoked or otherwise removed under the applicable service configuration.

If you contact us through the website, we process the name, email, topic and message you submit, and store the support request in Firestore so we can respond. Cloudflare Turnstile helps protect the form from abuse and may process technical request information such as IP address. The website uses a necessary session cookie when you sign in, and may store your language preference in browser storage. Google Fonts is used to display website typography.

Camera, image-library and contact-picker data are accessed only when you choose a related feature and select or capture content. Notifications are optional. If you choose cloud backup, your selected backup is handled by the Google Drive or iCloud account and service you choose.

Sharing, security and international processing

We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. Information is shared with the service providers above as needed to operate the features you request, and with group members/devices you invite or approve. Firebase states that its services encrypt data in transit and at rest where applicable. Authentication data may be processed in the United States; other Firebase services may process data in the regions configured for the project or in locations where the service operates. Use of Google Drive or iCloud is subject to the provider's terms and privacy policy.

Retention and deletion

Organizer data stored only on your device remains there until you remove it or uninstall/clear the app, subject to your device backups. Cloud pairing, invitation and signaling records are retained only as needed for their feature and configured expiry; active pairings can be revoked. Support requests are retained as needed to handle and follow up on the request, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Firebase account and associated cloud data deletion can be requested without signing in or reinstalling the app using the deletion page below. Local data and backups in Google Drive or iCloud must be removed separately by you.

Deletion may not remove information another group member independently retained, and limited records may be retained where required for security or law. We process requests to delete eligible DWise account and cloud data and will respond using the contact details provided.

You can use the app without optional notifications, choose whether to use phone or Google sign-in, decide whether to use shared features or cloud backups, revoke a paired browser, and submit a privacy or deletion request. To request deletion, visit dwise.app/delete-account. Do not include passwords or SMS verification codes in support requests.
